I took my van to Trent recently to get a squeaky fan belt fixed, but when I picked the van up the belt was still squeaking, even though he had replaced it with a new one. I ended up having to take it back to him 2 more times (3 visits in total) just to get the squeaky belt fixed. It's a fairly simple job so I was surprised it took Trent 3 attempts. Then a week later the brand new belt came off on the highway and got chewed up in the fan. I had to replace it again at my own expense. The problem was traced back to an old bearing on the fan belt pulley which had shattered, causing the pulley and belt to come off. This should have been picked up by Trent when he replaced the belt. When I complained to him he tried to claim that there was no sign of wear at the time he looked at it, which is complete rubbish because if a bearing shatters due to age, then there would definitely be signs of wear just a week before it shattered! Trent also refused to fix it because I complained about his workmanship, so I fixed it myself and its now running fine. He's the worst mechanic I've ever been to. BEWARE!!
